Encoder Product Guide
Brands We Repair:
What They Do:
Encoders are electronic devices that are best
described as "position indicators" that are used
to transmit the exact position of a rotary or linear device.
Primary Types and How They Work:
There are two distinct classes of encoders- rotary
and linear. Rotary encoders count revolutions in
precise increments usually ranging from 4,000 to
over 360,000 individual counts per revolution,
through various output stages. Linear encoders
regularly measure like increments down to .004"
to .000040" resolution.
